The servo press E212 is our solution in narrow space. This smart solution offer a servo drive with a PLC built-in where is installed our process monitoring APM. The servo press E212 can be integrated in all machine controlled by a PLC, thanks to the digital I/O terminals available or Bus interface in the servo drive, it is possible connect the servo press to the machine PLC to exchange all I/O signals necessary to provide all commands as: start, stop, OK parts, NOK parts and others job conditions. Main applications of our E212 servo presses are several of automated processes of press fit and joining. E212 is a must to guarantee a correct industrial processes and products with an high level of quality. E212 series working in compression and tension and is developed to supply the maximum repeatability and precision. The modules are tailored for working in a load range of 5kN to 100 kN and is projected with a compact and robust design. The frame and ram are manufactured in steel and hardened to avoid a backlash by wear. The motor is jointed to the ball screw by a timing belt with the pulley machined to have zero backlash. The motor is controlled by an absolute encoder with a sampling of 12 bits to guarantee a fine ram control. All E212 servo presses are designed to replace hydraulic cilinders, this design very compact could be installed easily and mounted in narrow space and this is possible in horizontal or vertical position.

Engine own several components fitted against a mechanical stop. Bushing, bearing, shaft are fitted into a housing with a precise shoulder that work as reference point and as mechanical stop. When you fit a components against a shoulder the reaction obtained on press thrust is a force that increase with an exponential behaviour. If we going to analyse the Force VS Position waveform for this kind of application we see that the force measured by the transducer has a low growth during the insertion, but as soon as the components touch the shoulder in the housing, the force increase faster to the maximum value. An important aspect of this analysis is the force behaviour during the insertion. How you can see in the diagram below, often the force doesn't exceed the half of the peak force value. This means that the servo press shall perform the maximum force only for few instants at the end of stroke when the fitted part is pushed against the housing shoulder.
Auloma to answer at this kind of applications has developed E2124 servo presses, a flexible device calibrated to measure the maximum nominal force, with the servo drive capable to perform the peak force for 3 seconds and with a ball screw and combined a bearings capable to support the bulking load generated by the peak force.
A very accurate force measure allow at our process monitoring of analyse any process variation and seek in run parts defects and process abnormalities. The servo press E212 mount a strain gauge force sensor embedded in the body press capable of capturing any force effects through the press spindle. The combined error of the system it is equal or lesser the 0.2% of the servo press full scale. The static behaviour of the strain gauge force sensor allow a precise measure of the forces in compression and in tension and also when the force has a rally trend. E212 servo presses are supported by the APM process monitoring to control in real time the press operations. The APM (Auloma Process Monitoring) is a software suite developed to program two different press environment:

and with a maximum of ten break point in each recipe. The software APM is installed in the servo drive CPU with the firmware dedicated for the scope and supplied by Auloma. Through the Ethernet connection is possible connect whichever PC with the operative system MS Windows 7® or later versions, where is installed our APM-PC ToolKit. In Few minutes, trough the instructions supplied by the system, it is possible set-up the press drive profile and the relative force limits for set-up the process monitoring. In the APM-PLC can be stored sixteen recipes .The data gathered by APM from the servo presses are processed in real time and provide through the network of discrete digital I/O or bus a feedback to the user's PLC about the analysis results, OK or NOK parts. through Etehernet TCP/IP network, the analysis data can be provided in CSV format to be analysed and stored in a hosted PC with our APM-PC Toolkit installed or with the almost SPC, MERP, ERP, Spread sheet available in the market.
